Mike Link retired as the founding director of the Audubon Center of the North Woods, has authored twenty-eight books, and continues to be a trip guide for Off the Beaten Path and Road Scholar trips, a riverlorian on paddlewheel trips, and a graduate instructor for Hamline University. Mike and his wife Kate Crowley became the only couple to walk around Lake Superior in 2010 and continue to give keynote talks about this and other adventures. With five grandchildren and family and friends, Mike and Kate enjoy sharing their love of nature and their concerns about freshwater.
