Description
This book studies collection and delivery points (CDPs) in China. CDPs are the product of the emerging demand for postal services and are a typical example of emerging public facilities. As the demand for these services poses a great challenge to urban planning, this book attempts to explain why CDPs vary in the fairness and efficiency of their spatial allocation. It provides theoretical analysis tools and practical references to explain and improve the spatial allocation of emerging public facilities.
The book reveals that the spatial allocation of CDPs differs not only in fairness and efficiency but also in key obstacles to participants' behavior under different governance structures (multi-actor market, single-actor market, and government supply mode) and service modes (non-compulsory and compulsory). To optimize fairness and efficiency in CDP spatial allocation, the book proposes differentiated paths for different participants based on the current situation's key limitations and obstacles.

Persons
Jiayu Wu is Professor and Deputy Director of Landscape Research Institute of Zhejiang University, Recipient of the Youth Talent Support Program of China Association for Science and Technology, Young Talent of China Association for Science and Technology Think Tank, "Zhongying" Young Scholar and "Qiushi Young Scholar" of Zhejiang University, and Winner of the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from Peking University. He mainly studies land value capture for protected areas, land use development and regulations, hosting several projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Liyun Lin is Senior Lecturer at Party School of Longgang District Committee of CPC, Shenzhen. She received Ph.D. on land resources management at Zhejiang University and has participated in many planning researches of key areas and projects in Hangzhou and Shenzhen, such as "Development Strategy of Building Hangzhou as a World Famous City" and "Comprehensive Development Plan for Shenzhen International Low Carbon City (2022-2030)". Her research interests include allocation of public service and land intensive utilization.
