Description
Bone 51 is a poetry collection of Aliens. I was joking. Bone 51 is a poetry collection of Chinese writers in New York. Yan Li, Hong Junzhi, Ling Lan, Pan Wuyi, Lin Xiaoyan, Zhu Xiani, six poets were born from the 50s to 00s, spanning half a century. Each one is chosen to represent his or her generation’s voice. They called themselves another kind of bones. Some witnessed the vicissitudes of Chinese history and migrated to the United States, while some came here to study and pursue dreams. They grew up in different historical contexts but share one thing in common: they are all legal aliens who write poetry in the United States. In their poetry, we see struggles overcoming self-identity issues and themes like love, sex, death, truth, and hope. Each poet embraces a unique aesthetic taste and focuses on different angles in this ever-changing society. Together, they made Bone 51 a beautiful soul-seeking journey.
