African Ritual Theatre

These two plays, "The Power of Um" and "A New Earth", are the first of Werewere-Liking's works to be translated. The plays re-enact rituals emerging from the grassroots lore of tropical Africa, raise fundamental issues and derive their power from traditional theatrical aesthetics.
