Description
The snark and instant chemistry of Better Than the Movies meets the indulgent summer fun and family hijinks of The Summer of Broken Rules in this compulsively readable rom-com from Alex Light, author of The Upside of Falling.
Jackie Myers is a fraud. Or she might be a genius-the jury's still out.
The thing is, she secretly runs pleasebreakmyheart, a gone-viral account aimed at breaking hearts and ending relationships.... And she just used it to break up her insufferable eternal nemesis's picture-perfect relationship.
Wilson is the buttoned-up, type A assistant manager of her nightmares-but it turns out he's also, apparently, a really great boyfriend.
So with her conscience (and paycheck) on the line, Jackie decides there's only one thing to do: She's going to help Wilson win his ex-girlfriend back. Which should be easy, considering Jackie hates him...right?
Enemies to Lovers: He's her buttoned-up, type A workplace nemesis. She's the secret mastermind who accidentally blew up his life. This is not a match made in heaven.
Forced Proximity: Now she has to help him win his ex-girlfriend back. It's a foolproof plan, as long as they can survive being in the same room without killing each other.
Workplace Romance: Their rivalry started at Monte's Magic Castle. Now, their reluctant truce might just turn the break room into a battleground for a totally different kind of war.
Laugh-Out-Loud Fun: With a ridiculous frog costume, a viral breakup account gone wrong, and sizzling chemistry, this YA romance is the perfect vacation read.

Reviews / Votes
"A compelling look at complicated grief." - Kirkus Reviews"Light has done it again-this is a great YA contemporary romance. The writing is heartbreakingly beautiful. Readers will immediately be drawn into this interestingly painful journey as the characters try to find their way out of the darkness, alone and together." - School Library Journal (starred review)
"Set in the endearingly comedic world of Monte's Magic Castle, It's Not Me, It's You thoughtfully captures how it feels to be directionless and unsure at the outset of adulthood. Jackie's voice is funny and engaging, and I loved watching her progress from enemies to allies to much, much more with Wilson. Alex Light has gifted us a sweet coming-of-age romance about one girl's journey to chart her own course and figure out who she is-and what happens when we stop focusing on everyone else's stories to start writing our own." - Ellen O'Clover, author of Seven Percent of Ro Devereux
Praise for Alex Light: "A syrupy ode to what it feels like to slowly fall for someone for the first time." - Kirkus Reviews
"A sweet and fun debut that neatly riffs on the unrealistic expectations romance novels can set for real life." - Booklist
"Such a delight! Alex Light's sharp sense of humor shines on every page. But it's the wonderful Rom under the Com that will keep readers rooting for Jackie and Wilson. Simply terrific!" - Jenn Bennett, author of Alex, Approximately
"While a great enemies-to-lovers romance endures, the core of the novel is the bonds of sisterhood between Jackie and her siblings.... Jackie's unsure adult path is also refreshing, offering to readers that you don't necessarily need life after high school sorted. A great romance, but an even better family story." - Booklist
"Witty banter, written by Light (Meet Me in the Middle), endears in this sweet romance with underlying themes of self-discovery and enduring friendship."
- Publishers Weekly

Person
Alex Light grew up reading too many books and listening to too many Taylor Swift songs. Now she writes books that make people laugh (and sometimes cry). Alex began writing as a teen. She shared dozens of love stories online, which have now been read over 150 million times. Shockingly, she graduated with a BA in English literature, giving her the perfect excuse to read even more books when she wasn't busy writing her own. Alex lives in Toronto, Canada, with her three furry friends. She's an avid donut eater, sometimes baker, and lover of the frozen winter months.
