Description
This work is aimed at network software developers, project managers, engineers and researchers, but should also be useful for network adminstrators, support staff, AI professionals and graduate students on network management courses. Offering an alternative to the expert systems paradigm for automating network management tasks, which will solve a problem but will not store the solution for the future, case based reasoning enables the system to retrieve the solution and attempt to adapt it to solve a new problem. This work discusses the applications of CBR-based network management, and provides instructions for building CBR-based network solvers. Examples of successful CB applications are included.
