Lakeisha Sykes-Bell is a proud wife and mother who resides in New Jersey. Being a mom affords Lakeisha the unique opportunity to peek inside the lives of little girls. When partnering with her sister, Tameka Lewis to create the concept for Mama's Brown Girls, Lakeisha was told a concept book about color for young children was a bad idea. Rejecting this notion, Lakeisha and Tameka forged forward with the production of Mama's Brown Girls. Lakeisha and Tameka strongly believe Mama's Brown Girls should be a welcome addition to every brown girl's library. In her spare time, Lakeisha enjoys spending time with her family. She is a member of Cathedral International in Perth Amboy, New Jersey where she serves as a dance minister. She is also a member of the auspicious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Lakeisha acquired her doctorate degree in Medical Humanities (DMH) from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
