Description
Recently, there has been a preoccupation by otolaryngologists with nasal and sinus disorders because of a major change in the manner in which nasal and sinus disorders have been detected and cared for. Much of this interest has been stimulated by the development of nasal and sinus endoscopy by European investigators and of CT imaging. This has created an increasing pursuit in the understanding of the pathophysiology of nasal and sinus disease. With this excitement, ther has been a demand for as much knowledge as possible within the field of rhinology and sinusology. As a result, the series "Rhinology and Sinusology" has been inaugurated. "Endoscopic Sinus Surgery" deals with nasal endoscopic diagnosis and management. Evaluation is discussed in chapters on office technique, patient selection and radiographic imaging. Management of the adult and paediatric patient includes surgical anatomy, anaesthesia and nasal endoscopic surgery and its complications. There is also a discussion of results.
