Description
Successor to the Mirage III and the forerunner of the Mirage 2000, the Mirage F1 has sometimes been described as a transitional aircraft. However, this streamlined Mach 2 interceptor, the silhouette of which being neatly different from the former Mirage, due to its non-delta wings, has been in service for nearly 30 years in ten fighters squadrons of the French Air Force.
It first entered service in 1974 and was used not only to protect France's territory, but saw action overseas, mainly in Africa. This volume is devoted to the study and development of this aircraft, and its career in the various French units as a single seater (F1C) or a two-seater (F1B).
