A Home for Jimmy

When I was twelve years old, my orange tabby cat named "Jimmy" died. I was heartbroken. Forty-three years later, a little over three months after my mother passed away, my husband saw a mama cat and her kittens in the field by his work. Only one kitten born that cold winter would survive. A little orange tabby. His mother brought him to the warehouse where my husband worked to keep him warm. My husband was the only man that the kitten would come to. He took a photo of the kitten and showed it to me. I was so taken with his resemblance to my Jimmy, that I thought he must be a gift from heaven. Something new for me to love.
