Tutorial Topics

This is a text for tutorial work activities in lower secondary and middle school classes. It aims to develop skills such as assertiveness, decision-making and the handling of information, mostly in the context of small groups but with some individual and class work. Each section starts with a theme from the BBC series "Tutorial Topics" but the book can be used on its own or can supplement the activities of the TV programmes. All the issues and themes are designed to relate closely to the pupils' social and personal concerns and the flexibility of "Tutorial Topics" aims to enable the teacher to use any part of the book to meet the need of the moment.
