Description
Prepare for a gripping tale where Christian faith is tested by chaos and danger. In The Mountain Lion, the seventh SHANE WOODS SERIES book by Dr. Tom Latham, Loretta Woods stands against wrongful accusations, determined to reunite with her family despite relentless threats from the Cold War-era KGB, the Mafia, and looming nuclear peril of the 1960s. Her faith and fortitude are central as she fights from the North Pacific to Russian prison cells.
While Loretta battles for survival, her family and friends show courage and unity in the face of adversity. From a dramatic mountain lion rescue to the challenges of high school wrestling, robbery, and adversarial encounters with bad guys, each chapter highlights the central role of faith, prayer, and forgiveness in overcoming obstacles.
A heartfelt letter from Shane's older brother serving aboard the USS Enterprise as the newest member of a U.S. Navy SEAL Team unites the family's journey with themes of perseverance and faith. A letter from brother Thomas is always a highlight for the entire family, offering special joy to Grandma and Grandpa.
Blending suspense, family drama, and hope, this book stands out as a story of faith triumphing over trials. Readers will find adventure, inspiration, and a compelling Christian message at the heart of every chapter. Experience a journey where faith transforms every hardship into testimony, emphasizing the core argument that God's love brings victory in the darkest times.

Dr. Tom Latham became a Christian while serving in the U.S. Navy, where he began holding Protestant Divine Services whenever his ship was at sea. After completing his naval service, he spent the next four years at Bible College to further his spiritual journey. He achieved a significant milestone in his studies by earning a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree from Luther Rice Seminary. After finishing his studies, Tom met Penny Stimpson, and together they began a mission to serve God in Brazil. Their family grew to include three children, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Although Penny was promoted to Glory, Tom continues to serve Christ in Brazil.
