Crossing Boundaries

Prisoners with mental health problems often have a complexity of need which cannot be met by any one agency. Based on a study of an innovative multi-agency project within a large local prison, this report paints a comprehensive picture of the prevalence and types of mental disorder in prisoners, their involvement with drugs and alcohol, reported self-harm and, most importantly, whether the prisoners were known to and had used community mental health services in the past.
