Description
This atlas illustrates the most important normal variants and diseases that affect the lung and mediastinum. The examples presented are related to the daily practice of a large hospital. Common diseases are described in more detail than rare ones, although the entire spectrum of radiologic findings is presented to the reader. In daily practice, and therefore also in this book, plain radiographs are the backbone of thoracic radiology. The more modern cross-sectional techniques are included only if they provide relevant, additional information. On the other hand, many follow-up examinations are included, which are especially informative for the assessment of lung diseases.
