Description
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive respiratory disorder and a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly in low- and middle-income countries such as Pakistan, where underdiagnosis and limited healthcare resources remain significant challenges. Despite standard therapies, frequent exacerbations continue to worsen patient outcomes and increase healthcare burden.Roflumilast, an oral phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4) inhibitor, has emerged as a promising new treatment option for severe COPD with recurrent exacerbations. This study evaluates the effectiveness and safety of oral roflumilast as an adjunct to standard therapy in preventing exacerbations and improving pulmonary function among COPD patients.
