Description
Becoming a new grandparent is one of life's singular joys - but it's not always easy. You have to navigate relationships with the parents - your own kids and your son - or daughter-in-law - to have time with your grandchildren, and then there's all that basic baby-care know-how you'll need to brush up on. "The Grandparents' Handbook" is a complete guide and gift book for all newly minted grandmas and grandpas, offering practical advice, inspirational suggestions and activities, and hundreds of other nuggets of entertaining and useful information. From the dos and don'ts of diaper changing, swaddling, and bathing to how to plan the first sleepover, and from songs and stories to share to fun crafts and games to create together, this volume will lead readers down surprising paths of discovery as they teach the youngest generation about family, friendship, and the wide world around them. Illustrated with delightful two-color drawings, "The Grandparents' Handbook" will be a terrific gift and resource for all new grandparents.

Elizabeth LaBan is a Philadelphia-based writer and editor, and mother of two. Barbara Trostler is Elizabeth's mother and the grandmother of two. After a career in television and market research, she now spends as much time with her grandchildren as she can. She lives in Philadelphia-about four blocks from grandchildren Alice and Arthur. Dr. Myron LaBan is Elizabeth's father-in-law and the grandfather of five. A physiatrist and the former head of physical medicine and rehabilitation at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, he hops on airplanes whenever he can to visit grandchildren Eli, Dahlia, Alice, Arthur, and Logan.
