Ryushun Kusanagi is a Buddhist scholar living in Tokyo, and one of the most famous monks in Japan. He has written several bestselling books in Japanese. The Practice of Not Reacting is the first of his works to be translated into English. Haydn Trowell has translated works by major prize-winning authors such as Yasunari Kawabata, Maki Kashimada, and Rie Qudan, and has worked extensively with publishers in Australia, Japan, the UK, and the US. Haydn holds a PhD in translation studies from Monash University and has a background in both translation and creative writing.
