Description
In the past few decades, the inclination in the degree of globalization which includes industrialization, have become fundamental objective for developing and developed nations. But, inadvertently, this never ending race has given the birth to the problem of global warming. Among them solar photovoltaic (PV) generation getting more importance due to absence of fuel cost, low maintenance, no noise, no moving parts and long life time. The concept of power inverter and the Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) is combined to make a new power inverter in replacement of the conventional inverters for grid connection system without battery; which possesses flexible AC transmission system (FACTs) capability with no additional cost. As a result, A multilevel inverter has numerous benefits over a conventional 2-level inverter that uses high switching frequency pulse width modulation (PWM). This book discusses about the design of solar PV based symmetric cascaded multilevel inverter with intermediate boost converter. The simulation results of MATLAB/Simulink software tool indicate the superior performance of the proposed control system as well as the precision of the proposed models.
