In Uniform depicts members of the executive and judicial branches. Uniforms alter identities: they assign clear roles and delineate the boundaries between the public and the private sphere. A uniform symbolizes the separation between the individual person and the office they are holding, between citizen and state. It obscures the personality of the person who wears it. Viewing these people in their private environments opens up a new perspective-one that interrogates stereotypes of state authority while also raising questions of responsibility. What is the nature of the relationship between citizen and state? What does responsibility mean in a democracy? How do we perceive those who represent the state and its monopoly of power?
