Description
This volume presents some contributions to the 6th Conference of the EERA network "Tacit Dimensions of Pedagogy": "Education is Relation not Output? Scenes of Knowledge and Knowledge Acquisition". The symposium was motivated by the fact that some perspectives of Humanities, for example those from the Educational and the Cultural Sciences, are not always present in the current discourses on university. Considering the point of view of these scientific disciplines, the idea of university and scholarly life means, firstly, to freely develop the idea of university. Secondly, it means to critically examine the conditions for academic work, e.g. in terms of current policy discourses. Fundamental for this is the idea of university as a society in which everyone is responsible for the shaping of her/his relationships to her-/himself, to others and to the world based on diverse forms of knowledge and knowledge representation. In this volume, this idea will be developed from historical, conceptual, and practical perspectives.

Anja Kraus, PhD, studied Educational Sciences, Philosophy and Arts Education in Berlin. From 2004 to 2013 she was Junior Professor for Educational Sciences at the Ludwigsburg University/Germany. Now, she is Associate Professor for Educational Sciences at the Linné-University Växjö/Sweden. Main research: pedagogical learning theories, physicalness in schools, integration of artistic positions into didactical concepts and into empirical teaching research, heterogeneity in schools and anthropological issues.

Nanna Lüth is a Junior Professor at the Institute for Art Didactics and Aesthestic Education, University of the Arts Berlin, Germany. Research interests: Visual Studies/Critique of Representation, New Media (Arts) in Schools, Queer and Decolonial Studies in Art and Cultural Education, Critical Pedagogy, Team Research (based on Art and Cultural Studies).
Pierangelo MaSet is a Professor in Art and Art Mediation at the Institute for Art, Music and its Mediation at the Leuphana University of Lueneburg, Germany. Research interests: Contemporary art theory, art education, works of art and artistic research, methods of art mediation, post digital media and cross culture developments.
Jean-Luc Patry is Professor Emeritus in education at the University of Salzburg, Department of Education, Austria. Research interests: Moral and values education; constructivism; social interaction, in particular situation specificity; epistemology, theory development, and methodology, and the relationships thereof; biases in empirical research; pedagogical tact and the transfer from theory to practice.
Tatiana Shchyttsova is Professor in Philosophy and Academic Director of the Center for Philosophical Anthropology at the European Humanities University Vilnius, Lithuania. Research interests: phenomenology of interSubjectivity and ethics; emotions and non-utilitarian grounds of social life; social and philosophical analysis of intergenerational relations; philosophical and ethical problems of biomedicine; philosophical grounds of psychotherapy.
