Odours and Volatile Organic Compounds II - Measurement, Regulation and Control Techniques

Scientist and engineers from five continents gathered to discuss the control and regulation of odours and VOCs from municipal and industrial facilities. With increasing public demands for a better living environment, much concern has been expressed worldwide over the emission, control and regulation of odours and VOCs. Odour nuisance has become a major environmental issue with a growing awareness of the need for a better way to evaluate and control odorous and volatile emissions from waste, wastewater and industrial facilities. Forty-four papers have been peer-reviewed and selected for these proceedings. They examine the sampling of odours using flux chamber and wind tunnels, the measurement of odours via analytical and olfactory techniques, the modelling of odours using emission and dispersion models and the control of odours by chemical, physical and biological abatement processes. The proceedings constitute an authoritative overview of current knowledge in the measurement, regulation and control of odorous and volatile emissions, highlighting some of the latest research results and their practical applications.
