Description
The prospect of becoming an autonomous, accountable midwife can be daunting for midwifery students. This book is a practical survival kit to help students successfully make the transition into midwifery practice. It focuses on consolidation of skills and knowledge in the final year to enable students to work independently. It covers what will be expected in the final year, handling stress, what to expect in first roles, applying for jobs and future career planning. It also explores the 'step-up' to more advanced requirements such as management and leadership, teaching others, and developing maternity services to promote excellence in care.
