Perhaps best known for his award winning Our Father's Fields, James Kibler earned his doctorate at the University of South Carolina under eminent Faulkner scholar James B. Meriwether. Kibler taught at USC from 1966 until 1968, then as professor of English at the University of Georgia from 1970 until his retirement in 2009.Kibler is also a writer of poetry and fiction. His Poems from Scorched Earth appeared in 2000. His novels, Child to the Waters, Memory's Keep, Walking Toward Home, and The Education of Chauncey Doolittle were published by Pelican Press.
