Description
There are different approaches for teaching and assessing writing. Lately, the researchers began to consider the process-oriented approach to writing. According to this approach, writing is a generative process. It focuses on the writer and the process or the strategies involved in writing. In this study, the author has attempted to consider the using of meta-discourse markers in process writing oriented-approach classes. This study surveyed to find whether the process writing instruction can be appropriate for using meta-discourse features or the performance of product writing. The results of statistical analysis revealed that the explicit instruction of process writing approach in EFL courses is quite successful for improving application of meta-discourse features in learners' writing ability.
