Description
Nuclear Reactor Technology Development and Utilization presents the theory and principles of the most common advanced nuclear reactor systems and provides a context for the value and utilization of nuclear power in a variety of applications both inside and outside a traditional nuclear setting. As countries across the globe realize their plans for a sustainable energy future, the need for innovative nuclear reactor design is increasing, and this book will provide a deep understanding of how these technologies can aid in a region's goal for clean and reliable energy.
Dr Khan and Dr Nakhabov, alongside their team of expert contributors, discuss a variety of important topics, including nuclear fuel cycles, plant decommissioning and hybrid energy systems, while considering a variety of diverse uses such as nuclear desalination, hydrogen generation and radioisotope production. Knowledge acquired enables the reader to conduct further research in academia and industry, and apply the latest design, development, integration, safety and economic guidance to their work and research.

Dr.Salah Ud-Din Khan is Associate Professor at
Sustainable Energy Technologies Center, King Saud
University, Saudi Arabia. He also gained a position of
Fellow at K.A.CARE energy research center at
Riyadh. Prior to joining KSU, he served as Assistant
Professor, Visiting Scientist, Researcher, and Lecturer
at various institutes and universities. He
received his PhD in Nuclear Engineering and gained
higher achievements in the field of nuclear reactor
safety while conducting an impressive amount of
work on NK/TH coupling and in reactor core design.
His work in designing and simulation of reactors
(SMRs) is well proven and has been published in
highly reputed journals. His area of research is broadening
to nuclear desalination, nuclear hydrogen production,
nuclear solar hybridization, energy storage, radiological protection, nuclear
forensics, and computational techniques for radiation shielding materials.
Dr. Khan teaches and supervises postgraduate students of Nuclear/Renewable
Energy at SET Center. He has published more than 150 research articles in reputed
journals and conferences with an accumulative impact factor of more than 250. He
authored two books and two book chapters. He has one patent on radiation technology,
which has been registered by U.S., European, and Saudi patent offices. He has been
invited several times in international workshops and conferences as a speaker. Dr. Alexander Nakhabov is currently working
as Associate Professor at Obninsk Institute for
Nuclear Power Engineering of the National
Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Russia. He
is a supervisor of educational programs in electronics
and automation of physical installations and
nuclear power engineering and thermal physics,
deputy head of the Department of Nuclear Physics
and Engineering, and former dean of the Physics
and Power Engineering faculty. National Research
Nuclear University MEPhI is the leading university
in Russia in the education and training of specialists
worldwide for nuclear power plants of Russian
design and nuclear centers of science and technology. His professional interests are in
methods and automated systems for nondestructive testing of nuclear power plant
(NPP) materials and pipelines; technical diagnostic systems for NPPs; and methods
and algorithms for data processing and analysis including artificial intelligence and
data mining methods. He worked at the Scientific Research Institute of Instrumentation
