Description
A new edition of this popular and successful atlas, completely updated and including new topics to reflect the revised geography requirements in the National Curriculum and QCA units of work. The atlas is now supported by two Teacher's Guide and Copymaster books, each of these gives a page by page guide to the atlas and the copymasters.
This atlas is part of the KEYSTART series, a comprehensive atlas programme for 7 to 11 years olds. The atlas is organised into themes: Skills, Water and Landscape, Settlement, Environment, Global Citizenship and Places. Each spread is devoted to a single topic and the maps are supported by text, photographs, illustrations and simple graphs. Different scales are used, from large scale plans to small scale maps of the world.
This variety of material allows the integration of the different strands of the geography curriculum : enquiry and skills, knowledge and understanding of place, patterns and environmental change, and sustainable development; new topics link to citizenship.
In response to teacher request, the copymaster sets have been extended to include a guide to both the atlas pages and the copymaster activity sheets.
These two supporting copymasters are 0-00-714207-2 Keystart World Atlas Teacher's Guide and Copymasters 1 and 0-00-714206-4 Keystart World Atlas Teacher's Guide and Copymasters 2.
