Description
The National Curriculum suggests that pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 should be encouraged to "read a variety of genres: eg autobiographies, letters, diaries or travel books". This anthology is an attempt to give pupils a taste of the range of autobiographical texts available to them. Each unit consists of one extract from an example of autobiographical writing and a range of assignments designed to support the student's critical response to that text. The assignments are of three types - tuning to the text, responding to the text and coursework.
