Description
The National Curriculum promotes the extension of the reading curriculum in the secondary school, and suggests that pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4 should be encouraged to read a variety of genres, such as autobiographies, letters, diaries or travel books. This book aims to give pupils a taste of the range of biographical texts available to them, with a view to encouraging them ultimately to read full-length examples. Each unit consists of one extract of biographical writing and a range of assignments designed to support the student's critical response to the more notable feature of that text.
