Description
G-Strings and Curls is the fascinating story of the son of a Jewish entrepreneur and bookmaker brought up in 30s and 40s East End London. His fledgling hairdressing company survived being wrongly blamed for an horrendous tragedy at sea to become a multi-million pound empire centred on the cruise industry. But before that he'd been a bookseller, jazz musician (alongside a young Sir George Shearing among others) and band leader in Britain, Germany and South Africa. He was also a photographer, wrestling promoter and hypnotist. To describe Tony Kaye's life as interesting is an understatement.
