Empirically-based Method for Performing Qualitative Synthesis in Software Engineering

Qualitative synthesis refers to qualitative methods used to integrate empirical evidence from primary studies. It aims to build knowledge about the impact and preconditions of software technologies. The thesis introduces a reliable and valid instrument for evaluating qualitative syntheses; an evaluation of the most mature qualitative synthesis methods, meta-ethnography and thematic analysis; and enhanced guidelines for applying them.
