Description
Looking at number facts, this is part of a series which aims to help primary school teachers assess children's understanding of key concepts, and their ability to use and apply maths. The different activities each come with key questions to ask, responses to look for and how to further support or extend the children's work. The activities in this book cover: using addition and subtraction facts, and multiplication facts to 10 x 10; quick recall of number facts; familiarity with number properties, and making number patterns; and exploring a range of methods for calculation. The book comes with a colour, A4, wipe-clean "postermat". Designs include game boards, picture stimuli and classroom maths resources. Diagnostic and "double check" assessment activites, reinforcement activities, and enrichment activities are included. The aim of this is to support formative and summative assessment, develop understanding and confidence, and consolidate and extend learning. This series is broadly linked to the National Curriculum levels, and the relevance to Scottish Guidelines and NI Curriculum for Maths is included.
