Description
The petroleum fuels are limited and depleting day by day due to the increase in consumption which also causes environmental problems to the world. Hence biodiesel is the first and only alternative fuel as it is technically feasible, economically competitive, environmentally acceptable, and easily available to fulfill the increasing demand for energy. In this book, the optimum growth conditions of light intensity, indoor, and nitrogen concentrations were studied to determine for the optimum cultivation of microalgae. To enhance the optimum growth, the effects of variety nitrogen and inoculums concentration were determined. The 10 % (V/V) of microalgae concentration was found out to be the optimum inoculums concentration with higher growth rate compared to 50 % (V/V. Nile Red method was used to measure the lipid content in the culture. FAMEs and samples were analyzed via Gas chromatography. The NH4NO3 nitrogen concentration showed greater lipid content compared to NaNO3 cells cultivated with final lipid content.
