Surjit Singh Kalra is founder and director of the Punjabi Language Development Board in the UK. He retired in 1992 as Head of the Community Language Service for Birmingham Education Authority.
Navtej Kaur Purewal is a lecturer in sociology at the University of Manchester. She teaches Development and South Asian Studies.
Sue Tyson-Ward was formerly Subject Officer for Community Language examinations at Cambridge Examinations Board and is now a language consultant and teacher in adult education.
