Description
In the fall of 1990, university professor, Michael Kalinski supported a student protest in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, which signified the tectonic change in the role of passionate youth in Ukraine. This was the student hunger strike, widely known as the Revolution on Granite, which became one of the forerunners of Ukrainian independence. After breaking up with the Soviet political system, Michael immigrated to the United States. He published research monographs in Exercise Biochemistry with U. S. publishers and rose to the rank of Full Professor and Department Chair in American academia. His international achievements, including his service as a Fulbright Scholar, were recognized by the U.S. Department of State. An American professor, he was awarded the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa by three foreign universities. In this book, as an expert witness in Sport Biochemistry, he exposed secrets of Soviet sports that were developed behind the Iron Curtain. Michael became the first scientist to publish the results of clandestine Russian sport's studies on anabolic steroids and blood doping in the West. Michael's story is a fascinating saga of inner strength, resilience, and perseverance.
