Description
This collection of papers explores the applications of 'in vivo' detection and sampling in neuroscience research. The papers are derived from a conference held in Oxford in September 1984. The new techniques involve 'in vivo' sampling to monitor the release of amine, amino acid and peptide transmitters in conscious animals and electrochemical detection combined with high performance liquid chromatography. The contributors review the results obtained by measuring central and peripheral transmitter release and turnover in conscious, unrestrained subjects. They also discuss current methodological trends.
