Doris Jones is the author of Daughter of the Cult, a memoir of survival, resilience, and faith. Born in Connecticut in 1941 as the fifth of six children, she was raised within the strict confines of the Metropolitan Church Association Bible School. After struggling to break free, she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Science Education and went on to teach for twenty-five years.Doris has been married to her husband, Larry, since 1976, and together they have built a life centered on family. They are the proud parents of two children, Sam and Sara, and the delighted grandparents of five. Daughter of the Cult is her debut book, written to give voice to the silenced women like herself and to shed light on the hidden struggles of growing up in a controlling religious community.
