The Anglesey Murders
Description
FROM THREE-MILLION-SELLING AUTHOR CONRAD JONES, A GRITTY CRIME THRILLER SERIES ON THE SEEMINGLY IDYLLIC ISLAND OF ANGLESEY.
Please note this book was previously published as Unholy Island.
Three shocking deaths. One small island. A killer hiding in plain sight.
In the aftermath of a violent storm, Detective Alan Williams is called to Trearddur Bay on the Anglesey coast.
Two bodies in the surf, bound at the ankles. Their limbs mutilated, their skin marked by torture.
They didn't drown by accident. They were sent to die.
It soon becomes clear this is no ordinary case. The men are strangers to the island - but someone wanted their bodies to be found. A warning, perhaps. Or a message written in blood.
Before Williams can make sense of it, a third body turns up inland. Beaten, bound, and left to die in the open.
This is a killer who's only getting started, and on an island where everyone knows everyone . . . they're hiding in plain sight.
This unputdownable crime thriller is perfect for fans of M. W. Craven, Angela Marsons, Robert Bryndza, Simon McCleave and Tania Carver.
Please note that this book includes dark and disturbing scenes which some readers may find upsetting.
THE DETECTIVE
DI Alan Williams is a fair-but-firm, world-weary, middle-aged divorcee. His wife left him several years ago, and his three adult sons come and go, helping him out with the bills and his beloved dogs Gemma and Henry. He and his colleague DS Kim Davies are in an on-off relationship, but his long hours mean it's more off than on. He hasn't the time or energy to look after himself properly or eat healthily, and struggles to get off to sleep without a couple of glasses of cheap whisky. He could well be heading for burnout.
THE SETTING
The Isle of Anglesey is a North Wales beauty spot, known for its vast, empty beaches, rugged landscapes and ancient burial mounds. To the north, the Snowdonia mountain range forms a bleak yet majestic backdrop. To the south, banks of mist roll in from the Irish Sea, concealing the many small islands and inlets along the coast. The Menai Strait - a long stretch of fast and unpredictable water - separates the island from the mainland. Against this remote and windswept backdrop, murder can hide in plain sight.
