Description
Marek wants nothing more than to score crowd-pleasing goals and become a world-famous forward. However, his striking ambitions and football dreams turn bittersweet when he is accepted at Stadium School, and handed the goalie's gloves instead of the number 10 shirt. Stubborn and disheartened by being a boring goalkeeper, Marek is enticed into playing basketball for another school. In that game, he can score as many goals as he wants and it's much more cool. But when the goalie gets injured during an important match for Stadium School, Marek is put on the spot. Will he accept his fate and the goalie's gloves to save the day, or will he decide to stop playing football for ever?

Before becoming a full-time writer Cindy Jefferies had a varied career that had nothing to do with writing, including being a Venetian-mask maker and a video DJ. Cindy's first novel, Sebastian's Quest, was published by Barry Cunningham at Chicken House. Now she is best known for her popular series Fame School (Usborne) set at a school for the performing arts. Stadium School is Cindy's first book co-written with her son Seb, who is perhaps even more football-mad than the books' characters. When not thinking about football, Seb plays in an indie band.
