Description
A classic tale of the supernatural in the great English tradition of Arthur Conan Doyle and James Herbert.
Hollis Calvin is sorting through his father's possessions when he discovers some letters written by Merris, his grandfather. Merris was a Second World War airman stationed in England, who suddenly and mysteriously disappeared. Contained inside one of the letters is a photo which Hollis expects to be of his grandfather and his friends. But to his horror Hollis finds that he is in the picture along with his recently-deceased father.
Shocked by this bizarre discovery, Hollis is desperate to learn the secret behind the impossible photograph. Haunted by the past, he journeys to England, and the seemingly quiet village of Candleford, in search of answers.
But Candleford possesses some secrets which it intends to keep - for ever...
Echoing the very best elements of Arthur Conan Doyle and James Herbert, The Ghosts of Candleford is destined to establish itself as a classic tale of the supernatural.

Raised on a cattle station in Australia, Mike Jefferies worked his way through art school in London, sleeping rough for lack of a grant. After gaining his degree he worked in commercial art for a while, then carved rocking horses before learning to ride the real thing. He was later selected for the British 3-Day Event Team. Despite his dyslexia, he has now written ten novels.
