Description
Florence loved spring. She loved summer, too, and autumn.
But she didn' t know if she loved winter because she always slept right through it. Florence goes on an adventure with her squirrel twin friends, to discover what winter is like... and learns that it isn' t for hedgehogs.
A beautifully told autumn story with lively illustrations that introduces favourite forest animals in a cautionary tale, capturing childhood fears about being lost, and the reassuring warmth of home.
Children can spot the bushy tail or sharp snout (with even sharper teeth) of the animal who follows Florence as she goes deeper and deeper into the forest, as well as the little mouse who accompanies the friends on their journey.

CATE JAMES studied at the Edinburgh College of Art. She visits schools, libraries and festivals to talk and create drawings with children, and has taken part in the Association of Illustrators annual show, and an exhibition of five illustrators at the Scottish National Gallery. Cate is currently Illustrator in Residence at the Sick Kids hospital in Edinburgh, where she is working on a project with the children. This is the first book she has both written and illustrated, and it confirms her natural storytelling ability.
