Digitalization has become a part and parcel of contemporary prosthodontics with the probability of most of the procedures being based on the digital techniques. Digitalized dentistry enables efficient, fast and precise and error free production of fixed prosthodontic appliances. The term ¿Digitisation' refers to conversion of an image or signal into digital code by scanning, tracing, or by a graphics tablet or using an analogue to digital conversion device. It is gearing ahead with time and utilizing the advances that science has made which allow us to serve the patients better. We are combining what the present phase of advances is referred to as 'Hi- tech dentistry' and are applying it to the principles and methods of contemporary Prosthodontics in practice.
