Jimmy Jacobs has been the editor of Georgia Sportsman magazine for more than two decades and has written extensively about the state for a number of regional and national publications; among them Backpacker and Canoe magazines, North Georgia Journal and Southwest Georgia Living. He is also the outdoor columnist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper. On the Web, Jacobs is the Atlanta Outdoor Travel Examiner for Examiner.com, and the Georgia correspondent for Southern Trout magazine. Jacobs has written four guidebooks to fishing in Georgia and the surrounding states and also has authored a volume of Southern humor and nostalgia. A three-time past president and current member of the Georgia Outdoor Writers Association, he is also a member of the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association.
