Description
Jack decides to spend his summer break from college as a camp counselor, living on the cheap at his grandparent's lake house. He arrives as secrets over a century old are revealed, with Jack unexpectedly the focus of a conflict that puts his life in peril.
Under Tallulah's Waters is set in a time of transformation for the Tallulah River in Northeast Georgia. It begins during the period where the local Cherokee Indians were experiencing a great invasion robbing them of their land. It extends through the first railroads bringing tourists to experience the mighty river dubbed "The Niagara of the South" for its thunderous tumult through Tallulah Gorge. The story then proceeds to the 21st century with the roaring river dammed to create hydroelectric plants and picturesque mountain lakes.
Juxtaposing the spirit world of the Cherokee, faith, and disbelief, Jack must expand his awareness of things beyond his imagination to survive. With the help of his grandfather and a neighbor of Indian heritage, he strives to reconcile his Christian ideals with otherworldly forces he can't understand.
