Process Engineering in Biotechnology

The design of biotechnological processes involves the integration and interaction of a range of different disciplines in science, technology and engineering. An important aspect of this collaboration is communication between the participants, familiarity with the terminology used and an appreciation of the potential problems of each discipline. This book introduces non-engineers - mainly biologists - to basic chemical (process) engineering. Mathematics is an essential component of this subject and the author aims to deal with this in a simple and straightforward manner, including worked examples, which the non-engineer should find easy to follow.
