Description
This is the story of cities spanning the entire globe: places that were occupied by such influential civilizations as the Egyptians, Romans and Vikings, and that had a huge impact on their historical moments. They all have one thing in common. They ultimately disappeared.
This book brings them back to life.
The first comprehensive exploration of the history, culture, architecture and people of cities that stood loftily for generations, The Lost Cities paints a picture of how these places might have looked and how their people lived, before exploring the events and reasons that led to their eventual downfalls.
