Description
This book examines how bordering countries attract and encourage forced migration and help forced migrants choose a particular bordering country, as well as its intervention strategies and policies, focusing on Rohingya refugees to Bangladesh, Syrian refugees to Türkiye, and Ukrainian refugees to the European Union (EU). The book offers a unique exploration of the intricate dynamics at play in the management of forced migration in some of the world's most critical border regions. What sets this book apart is its comparative analysis of three distinct regions facing large-scale refugee crises: Bangladesh, Türkiye, and the European Union. This cross-regional comparison provides fresh insights into the varied geopolitical, legal, and humanitarian responses shaped by various 'pull factors.' Whether you are a scholar, practitioner, or someone passionate about global migration justice, this book offers vital perspectives on forced migration and border policies.
