Dr. Shahidul Islam, MD, Professor, PhD, Department of Biochemistry, University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is an expert in diabetes and has achieved a number of awards including the International Endocrine Society. He has over 30 years of research and teaching experience, has published in 20 international peer reviewed journals, is an "Editor-in-Chief? of the "World Journal of Diabetes?. Prof. Islam has been selected as one of the Global Top 2% researcher by Mandeley during 2019 and as one of the Global Top 0.016% researcher in the area of Experimental Diabetes Mellitus by Expert Escape during 2021. Prof. Islam has published 14 peer reviewed book chapters, more than 200 research articles in the international peer reviewed journals including 11 reviews since 2004. He has successfully supervised the research projects of over 45 Postdoctoral Fellows and students.
