Shagufta K Iqbal is an award winning dyslexic writer who grew up in Bristol and now lives in London, with her husband, her children and step-children, her cats and tea cups. There are many places she has called a home, but this is by far her favourite one. She writes about place and belonging, because family and community are important to her. Shagufta's writing has been featured in a wide range of anthologies, including Slam: You're Gonna Wanna Hear This (Macmillan), Spin! (Otter-Barry Books), and The Best Poetry Book in the World (Burning Eye Books). Alongside her published work, Shagufta's poetry and storytelling have been commissioned by leading organisations such as the V&A, Tate Lates, Southbank Centre, WOMAD Festival and CBBC.
