The bibliography IBZ, has been the leading international and interdisciplinary reference work documenting academic periodical literature in the humanities, social sciences and related fields for over a hundred years. The spectrum of subjects covered is unrivalled: in no other database are academic journals from so many fields covered. This facilitates an interdisciplinary approach to research in the humanities, social sciences and related fields. The emphasis of the IBZ lies on the documentation of European periodicals. Publications from 40 countries in more than 40 languages are taken into consideration. 51% of the listed periodicals appear in English 37% appear in German 12% appear in French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and many other languages The variety of languages in which the journals are published reflects the development of a multi-lingual and multicultural research 'landscape' in Europe. The database IBZ now lists over 2.91 million journal articles. Every year some 120,000 entries from 5,500 periodicals are added. Each entry includes the following information: Title of article Author Journal (title, year of publication, year, number and page number) Languages of article and available abstracts Subject heading and reference in German and English Subject field of the article and the journal Publisher, address (only on CD-ROM edition)
