Jana Novotny Hunter lived in the US with her American architect husband and is a published author, there, of teenage fiction. She moved to England ten years ago and began to specialise in writing for younger children, particularly those who struggle with reading. She shares a studio with the illustrator, Sue Porter, who has illustrated this title. Jana does a tremendous amount of work in schools, helping children to develop their self-esteem and their eading skills. She has written picture books for Orchard and Puffin; and young fiction for MacDonald as well as for Collins.
